CAN Bus: What It Is, How It Works & Practical

CAN Bus is used everywhere from cars and industrial equipment to embedded systems and machinery.

In this talk, we’ll look at what CAN Bus is, and how devices communicate over a shared two-wire network. We’ll cover the basics of CAN frames, message IDs, arbitration, termination, CAN-H/CAN-L signalling, and a tool to monitor and diagnose a CAN network.

We’ll then move on to a practical demonstration, connecting a real CAN device, capturing live traffic, and showing how messages can be decoded and generated.

No previous CAN Bus experience is required. Bring a laptop if you’d like to follow along with the practical examples.

Join us in central Redhill, at Bel4, on Janurary 12th from 6:30pm.

If you're attending please RSVP so we know who to expect. Please arrive from 6.30pm. It's important we know numbers in advance to help with planning (the pizza order).
